Core Department Overview: The department utilizes a state-of-the-art TrueBeam Linear Accelerator with respiratory gating, a 6D robotic couch, and HD-MLC. This revolutionary system delivers ultra-precise radiation therapy. Precision and speed ensure sub-millimeter precision, allowing effective tumor targeting while protecting surrounding healthy tissues, and can reduce overall treatment time by up to 50%. Treatments include real-time imaging and live tumor tracking, which enhances safety and ensures radiation hits the exact target even with slight patient movement. As part of a 700+ bed teaching hospital and medical college, the department is supported by a team of radiation oncologists, medical physicists, and radiation therapy technologists to ensure accurate dose delivery and integrated, multi-modal care.
Advanced Treatment Techniques Offered — IMRT (Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy): shapes radiation beams to match complex tumor geometry, minimizing dose to critical organs such as the spinal cord, parotids, kidney, and bowel. VMAT/RapidArc (Volumetric Modulated Arc Therapy): delivers IMRT-quality plans in rapid 360° arcs, reducing treatment time and improving comfort. SBRT/SRS (Stereotactic Body & Radiosurgery): ablative doses in 1–5 fractions with sub-millimeter accuracy for small lung, liver, spine, and brain lesions. IGRT (Image Guided Radiation Therapy): daily CBCT and kV/MV imaging for precise setup and tumor position before and during each fraction. Respiratory Gating & DIBH: monitors breathing and treats in selected phases to spare critical organs and target the tumor precisely. 3D Conformal Radiation Therapy: foundational conformal technique for palliative and large-field treatments requiring uniform dose coverage.
Treatment Benefits for Patients: High precision and advanced techniques improve comfort and reduce radiation-related toxicity. Super-specialty care means the radiation team collaborates with surgical and medical oncology for complex cancer cases in one place. Located on the Jaipur–Bikaner Highway, the facility offers 24/7 support and emergency services for oncology-related complications.
