Pharmacology is the field of study that helps us learn how drugs work in the body. Choosing the right drug, the right dose, and the right way to give it are all very important parts of treating any condition. Consequently, it is imperative for a physician to understand the unique effects that different medications have on the body and the clinical situations in which they should be utilised.
The Department of Pharmacology at PMCH focuses on helping students learn to utilise drugs effectively. Our teachers use a concept-based approach to teach students how drugs work, how they might be used to treat diseases, and the harmful consequences they can have. It's vital for students to memorise pharmaceutical knowledge, but the main goal is for them to learn how to determine which drug is best for a given clinical situation.
PMCH wants to train doctors who use drugs with a strong sense of responsibility and a deep understanding of science.
